Emilio Aguinaldo College

About University

Emilio Aguinaldo College begins with Dr. Paulo C. Campos , one of the very few Filipino National Scientists noted for his work on nuclear medicine, envisions the Filipino youth to be totally educated and trained through arts, sciences and technology.

It was in 1957 when the Marian School of Midwifery, the forerunner of Emilio Aguinaldo College, was established under the management of Marian Clinics, Inc.

In 1973, the University Physicians’ Services Incorporated (UPSI) took over the school management. From Marian School of Nursing and Midwifery, its name was changed to Marian Junior College. Its level was elevated to full-fledged College with new courses being offered such as Food Service and Technology and the Dietetic Internship Program.

College of Arts and Sciences was added to the list of colleges in 1976, offering Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science programs. Both Bachelor of Science in Nursing and BSN Supplemental Course were also given government recognition, thus, establishing the College of Nursing.

In September 1977, the name Marian College was changed to General Emilio Aguinaldo College, to apply to both Manila and Cavite campuses. This was in consonance with the new direction of the government in recognizing and honouring national heroes. Eventually, the title “General” was dropped.

The School of Medicine of Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), a Commission of Higher Education accredited institution, was established on 23 July 2001.

The medical school is staffed by a committed, academically and clinically–respected and experienced faculty. The college boasts of superior teaching and clinical facilities notably its main teaching–training hospital – the Medical Centre Manila, a Phil health Accredited Centre for Excellence and ISO 9001 Certified Hospital, a rare distinction among tertiary private or government hospitals in the Philippines, as well as clinical affiliation with the University of the

Philippines College of Medicine – Philippine General Hospital Medical Centre.

The Medical School is always conscious of the need for close collaboration with its local sister health units as well as other respected affiliated medical institutions, i e Qiqihar Medical University in China and the University of the Philippines College of Medicine – Philippine General Hospital Medical Centre, in order that EAC becomes a true Health Science Centre that is recognized not only nationally but also internationally through its significant contributions to the health manpower training needs of the country and the rest of the world.
